Folks, I've been doing a lot of trial and error attempts and confirm that it's not possible to make a good working copy for Honda/Acura navigation dvd version 4.x without a special hack to few files. I'm talking about nav discs for North America. Not sure which ones are for Europe and don't rule out that they are essentially the same There is a confirmed way to make it work by changing a content of one of the files that inside one of the BIN files located on the disc. The file name is HMIManager.dll The original DVD (either White or Grey) has the following BIN files that contain HMIManager.dll file which contain some code responsible for disc verification. 09Jog2.bin 09Touch2.bin 09Jog128SZA.bin 09Jog128TA0.bin 11Jog128Acu.bin 11Jog128M.bin I have patched files - 09Job2.bin and 09Touch2.bin that make the backup possible for models not newer than 2009 (it wasn't me, patches were made by someone else).
You might have heard about OPT vs PTP methods when burning a DVD. The patch in the above said files disables low level verification of how the disc was made. These files are part of the White DVD that is available on demonoid. So, I wonder if anyone knows someone with a good knowledge of Windows CE as this is what runs in the background of version 4.x nav systems to take a shot with different files. I can extract BIN files and send this HMIManager.dll to anyone who is interested. As far as I know HEX editor is required to change few strings in the file.
HMIManager.dll from patched 09jog2.bin and 09touch2.bin can be used as a reference. Secondly, the same tool can be used to extract BIN files from different nav systems for Honda/Acura, i.e. Those that require Orange or Turquoise disc. I just don't have enough software developer knowledge to work on every individual DLL file but I can put everything together and make a patch for every nav disc. Testing would a collective effort.
Reply to this post or PM. Once we have any progress all patched files with instructions how to use them will be available here at this forum. Re: Discussion on Honda/Acura nav systems and the ways/hacks to make a backup Hello guys, I'm replying to my own post after doing some off-line communication with a person who generously volunteered to help. He made all the required patches and manipulations with files in question. To cut the long story short - there's a way to make a working backup for Honda/Acura nav systems on vehicles 2009+. We are talking about North American models here as according to our 'good Samaritan' the content of maps DVD for European models is different.
Anyways, I uploaded the ZIP-ed archive with all patched BIN files that are part of 4.A2 DVD to anonfiles.com (BIN files.zip) As for the content of the disc itself I'll see what can be done. I uploaded the disc to demonoid a while ago but now this torrent is busted and closed. There's another torrent link to this disc at thepiratebay, I confirmed it is an active download. This disc is patched only with two files (see my original post). Once you download it you have to replace all BIN files in the ISO and make a new image. Imgburn is your program. Re: Discussion on Honda/Acura nav systems and the ways/hacks to make a backup Hi ypefti - Thanks for your work on this.
I downloaded the ISO and the 6 BIN files, copied them into the ISO using UltraISO, then burned it using Imgburn. My writer is a Pioneer DVR-115D (1.22 FW) and my media is Verbatim DVD+R DL. However I get a DVD read error when I load it in my 2009 Pilot. I verified that the disc is being written as DVD-ROM. I'm also able to reload my original NAV DVD, so the drive appears to be OK. Has anyone else tried these patched files and been successful in getting a working backup of 4.A2? BruzerOK, I'm happy to report that this now works with my 2009 Pilot! I'm not sure what I did differently this time, since I used the same disc that I had created earlier. I was prepared to 'force' a download if it didn't work again, but I let it do the 'normal' download. As soon as I turned off the car and restarted, it came up fine.
Just for good measure, I then did a 'forced' download, and fortunately it still continued to work fine. Sorry for the earlier confusion. Re: Discussion on Honda/Acura nav systems and the ways/hacks to make a backup It worked first try on my 2008 Accord Coupe. Reauthored the ISO with UltraISO, replacing the various bin files. Burned to disc using ImgBurn at 2x (disc spec says 2x or 4x but slower is almost always better with finicky discs).
I used Verbatim 4x DVD-R DL (-R are typically more compatible than +R discs). Started up car, removed old DVD, inserted new DVD. A brief warning came up saying 'Invalid DVD' or something, but before I had a chance to get into a menu to force download, it started up by itself. 3 minutes later it was finished downloading and everything was working perfectly!
A hack to get rid of the nag screen would be cool, but it's probably more work than its worth. Re: Discussion on Honda/Acura nav systems and the ways/hacks to make a backup Hello, Ive located a good torrent for the 2013 Green DVD update for the 2010-2012 MDX. Downloaded and burned just fine. Inserted the DVD, system indicated that it successfully updated. Then, it told me there was a map update on the DVD, and asked me if I also wanted to update maps. I said yes, and it then asked me the password. There was a device ID and password noted on the torrent as DEVICE NUMBER: BGB28006092A, PASSWORD: 270693.
However, this password did not work. I suspect that it may be unique to the device ID. Any ideas on this? Ive searched around, and cant find instances of anybody else facing this issue with this or any older DVDs.
Hi everyone, So my relationship with Acurazine has been completely one sided, as in I take take take, and never give! So with that said I thought I'd put this up here to help everybody out who's had some struggles with this. The link above points to a zip file that includes the following files: BN2HH12C.BIN BNHH401A.BIN BN2HHMLD.BIN dumpnavi.exe I included both BN2HH12C.BIN and BNHH401A.BIN.depending on your Nav you'll have to upload your image to one of those files when uploading using dumpnavi. To find out which file your car is running do the following: 1. Turn your car's ignition to ACC 2. When the nav loads completely press and hold 'GUIDE' 'MENU' and 'CANCEL' for approx 5 seconds to bring up the diagnostic menu.
Wait another 5 seconds to let it load up completely. Press 'version' button on the screen. Hold down the 'MENU' button until you get a new window displaying what.bin you are running. Write this down so you dont forget.
Get back to your computer and open up 'dumpnavi'. For your Bootable File, select the.bin that applies to your car (mine was NHH401A.BIN). Make sure 'Modify Bitmap' is checked and upload your custom background. Make sure to uncheck 'Modify Nag Screen'.
These files already include the nag screen and ok button bypass hacks. Click 'Modify' You should all be set now.
Burn your files on to a CD/DVD. I used a DVD-R.
I have no idea if you can use a CDR or DVD+R. I think some have used CDR's This is important! You have to make an ISO disk. I think a lot of people run into issues because they don't do this. Your ISO disk only needs the file you modified (in my case BNHH401A.BIN) and BN2HHMLD.BIN Once you're done all this get back to your car and do the following (taken from the Navigation Hack Guide): 1.
Turn your car's ignition to ACC 2. Open the trunk and pop out the NAVI disk (if it's in there) 3. Insert your newly burned CD. Go back to the driver seat, the display will show some dvd read error, now press and hold 'GUIDE' 'MENU' and 'CANCEL' for approx 5 seconds to bring up the diagnostic menu. Wait another 5 seconds to let it load up completely. Press 'version' button on the screen 6.
Press 'LOAD DISC' to load your custom bin into the navigation. Wait until it's completely done and it will then display another error message about can't read the navi dvd, now take out your bin CD and insert your Navigation disc and you are done! If you follow exactly what I wrote above this NEEDS to work.
It's exactly what I did and it worked perfectly. You'll have your custom background, trip computer, ok bypass and no nag screen. I decided to make a post for this because things seem to be buried in the main navigation hacking guide. Thought this would be helpful.
Are the bin files from version 3.A0? If not please tell us what version they are from. I don't believe the 3.A0 or 3.B0 versions have been hacked yet and the last hacked orange version is 3.80 as far as I know.
I would like to have the correct Daylight Savings Time dates which were lost when I used hacked 3.80 files for the modification. Apparently the new dates were put into effect sometime after version 3.80. This was the secondary reason I upgraded to 3.A0 from 3.40C. The primary was of course were the maps. I would sure like to have a navi that always has the correct time and keep my custom background, trip computer, ok bypass and the no nag screen. And thanks for helping others out!

Megaupload support got back to me.they let me know if we get that temporary file is unavailable message, it means the server that the file is on may be down and usually gets resolved shortly after, within an hour or so. So if you get that message just check back later. Also.as far as using imgburn.I think I messed up, I think that software only burns iso files. So I found this It would have you downloading a trial version of Nero ROM or the Nero suite. From their you'd follow the instruction for burning an image. Download adventureworks 2014 database.
Nero or any other burning software seems to be bundled with every computer. Oh and Hammer.the hack allows you to throw up your own customized splash screen for the nav.
Also, it eliminates having to press the ok button and doesn't give you the navigation use disclaimer.AAANNNDDD you get a fancy little Trip Computer.
